It was my Millie pup you painted and which is now framed and hung in a place of honor. You signed my copy of Paint Yourself Calm. After enjoying the book I passed it on to a good friend as you suggested and she then passed it on to her Mom who lives in rural North Georgia and is in her late 80's. Today my friend sent me an email her Mom sent her today, and thanked me for the original gift and a "see what you started by the gift of the book"note . I thought, no, see what Jean started.<br />This is the note: "Jan’arie, Jan called me this morning to say how much the book Paint Yourself Calm had helped her. She had just come back from visiting her son in Indiana. His cancer has made him lose so much weight it really upset her. She loved the book and used it before she went to Indiana. Now she is setting up her room so her watercolors are always out and she can go to them when she feels she needs them. She says it really “cools” her down, stops the worry and can continue with her work. So I have to say a huge Thank you for getting me the book and then you very nicely got me two more books which I gave to folks who needed them. Isn’t it amazing what a little water and some color can do?!!!!!!!!!!!!<br /> Just a little note for now. Love Mom"<br />Jean, Thanks for all the ways you inspire me and so many others. I love seeing that there is a new post from your blog in my inbox and I continue to refer to and enjoy your books. The workshop was wonderful. I had wanted to send you a book after the workshop I think you would enjoy. I loved it. It's called the Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. If you haven't read it I know you would love it but have a few tissues.
