A World Wide Embassador of Watercolour

Jean Haines
A Worldwide Embassador of Watercolour

It is really wonderful  to hear my exhibition at the Wey Gallery in Godalming has been featured in various magazines throughout UK to  promote my show which opens on 27th May 2012 including my first abstracts as well as large horse racing scenes and  favourite subjects which have over the last two years become highly collectible.

The Wey Gallery in Godalming is delighted to be launching Jean Haines’s long awaited new book "Atmospheric Watercolours" on the 27th of May with a stunning show of new Watercolours, including pieces featured in the book. Well known for her passion for art, exciting techniques and love of colour, Jean takes you on an inspirational painting journey in which you’ll encounter, amongst other things, magical watercolour flow, glorious washes, sunbursts, and a magnificent ‘hotting it up’ finale.

The combination of East meets West in Jeans style is unavoidable, and to be enjoyed. While living in China Jean studied brush control which had a great impact on the evolvement of her style. Later vibrant colours were introduced from working with artists from India and Pakistan. Free flow of water along with no fear of working directly minus the use of a preliminary sketch leads Jean to amazing results that often leave viewers of her work in awe. Light and the use of beautiful colour along with the ability to take any ordinary subject and turn it into an extraordinary painting with consistently unique results is what many artists aspire to achieve. Furthermore Jean has the ability to install enthusiasm and inspirational motivation in all around her.

Described as a worldwide embassador of Watercolour, Jean will be holding international workshops, this year in the USA and Australia. Her Paintings are to be found in homes all over the world. Favourite subjects are highly sought after by galleries and are consistently added to in new collections, which are always full of fascinating surprises. Jean is a member of the SWA (Society for Women Artists),the SFP, (Artists Society of Floral Painters). and has won many awards for her outstanding work. "The last two years has seen Jean’s work become even more collectible and she really is flying!" a gallery spokesman said. "Expressions" Jean’s second solo show will be a feast for the eyes… Don’t forget to contact the gallery to get your invitation!

The show runs from the 28th of May to the 11th of June. For your invitation to the preview, when you can meet the Artist who will be signing books, please call the gallery on 01483 418013.
