A Colourful Life

. Pigments Merging and Creating  Brilliant Effects

How can my life possibly get any better after the whirlwind of a year I have had so far. Exhibitions, Private Previews, meeting wonderful artists and celebrities continually and my book launch at the Mall Galleries last week. I feel as though I am flying on the wings of happiness at times but today is the start of a brand new week and I have no idea where it is going to take me. My second book is a new adventure and I am already  taking the first thrilling steps into that exciting avenue.

I have a meeting tomorrow where I need to present a new collection of paintings and quietly behind the scenes I have been working on my second book. I learned so much from writing my first one that I now feel I have grown as an artist with far more experience in my technique which I am eager to share.

I am as always fascinated with colour. The vibrance I am searching for in new ways with fascinating texture is really motivating me to paint daily enjoying every second I am holding my brush. So for my next exhibitions I am  bringing a really exciting  body of work together that thrills me by effects and leaves so much more for my own imagination to play with.

I  found time  to unwind in my studio last night and literally throw colour on paper to capture some of my favourite subjects. I never wish to paint the ordinary and I always want my work to stand out in the crowd so my selection  of colour for this first wash had to be anything but what you would expect! My mood is light, I am glowing with  happiness and beginning to  move forward into my next projects full of enthusiasm and joy. I feel this shows in my results.  I laughed out loud at the expressions of the sheep in the distance in the painting below. They are lazily watching the main character in the foreground. You could easily caption what they are thinking! Sunlight played on the backs of the sheep in fields nearby which is where I found my inspiration for this fun piece.........

  "Standing Out in the Crowd"

This is going to be a fantastic week!

The looseness of this painting is amazing. The colors are exquisite.

My first visit to your blog. Congratulations on your first book, and good luck for the second. The water colours are vibrant and very pleasing. Glad to be adding my name as a follower.

The color blend on the white background is amazing and gives your centerpiece that pop effect!
