Reaching For Dreams

 Cosmos  Colour Combinations.

At the charity evening in aid of McMillan Cancer Support I was asked to say a few words. I thought about this and what I was trying to achieve.Which was to ask everyone in the room to donate that evening.

This is what I said.

"In my garden there is a single daisy growing . At first glance it may seem small and insignificant. But as I turn and look behind me nearby is  a field absolutely full of daisies making a huge impact with a blanket of beauty that sways in the breeze demanding attention in all of its natural glory.

Quite simply one daisy may seem small but when  joined with many others it creates a completely different effect.

When we give alone our efforts may seem very small . But when we unite we can make a difference. Tonight we may feel like that small daisy by giving a single donation but united we can become the beautiful field.  Together we can make a difference"

Together we can and will make things better for all around us.

I often meet people who have no confidence. Either new artists struggling to come to terms with watercolour as a medium to the more advanced professional artists who feel they are getting nowhere even if they are not  quite sure where " there " is. We do need to know what we want or where we are going . Whether it's how we want to paint or what we want to achieve when we get "there". We can happily take detours and enjoy every step of our journey along the way but the knowledge of having a goal helps us reach it. If we believe in ourselves.  A goal can be small like the tiny single daisy or huge like the field of  flowers. Whatever we want to achieve we can reach our dreams and see them come true.

Consider this lovely  quote from the bible. It says it all.

If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to your
mountain, "MOVE!" and it  WILL move... and NOTHING will be
     impossible for YOU!
                                                                                      - Matthew 17:20

If a  mustard seed can move mountains so can we.
Believe you can do it and you will.
