Tomorrow night  will see the opening of my solo exhibition at the Frame Gallery in Odiham. The show is called "Watermark" because of my "trade mark " watercolour effects which I celebrate from this magical medium rather than aim to control.

I visited the gallery yesterday and everything is all ready hung and priced for the opening and it looks wonderful. I cannot choose a favourite from the collection. I love the donkeys especially because they are my first ever in a show. The violets look knock out in their frames and the delicate, sweet pea have the wonderful illusion of carrying perfume which of course for a painting is impossible. But they do look as though they are heavily scented. There are badgers, florals, horse racing , kittens . The gallery is full of a divers  selection of subjects in watercolour.

I will be at the gallery at 5.0 pm. - 7.15 p.m. so if you are free, you are welcome to join me to celebrate the opening!

For those wishing to dine out after the show there are several lovely restaurants in Odiham worth checking out!

I have enjoyed painting in my studio in preparation for my next solo exhibition. I delivered  the first  selection of paintings to be framed for my show last week. It was wonderful seeing the fantastic reaction to my new collection, as painting after painting appeared from my portfolio.

The kingfisher series is obviously a firm favourite and the above painting is the latest to be added to this new show which will be at THE FRAME GALLERY in Odiham, Hampshire.

The sun is shining here today and the light on the greenery outside my studio window is delightful.  Many branches are still bare due to the cold weather slowing down the budding leaves this Spring. But from every single negative in life there is always a positive. Mine is that I can enjoy the  flash of turquoise more easily from the tiny kingfisher who visits our cottage.

This new painting will be in my solo exhibition "Essence" and already I have fallen in love with it, even though it really needs a few final touches.

The Opening Evening is strictly by invitation only due to the large amount of interest already shown in the new collection.  Invitations will be available from the gallery prior to the event but numbers will be limited.

The Frame Gallery Small Painting Exhibition 2012

"Snowdrop Gathering"

This afternoon I will be delivering my small paintings for the 2012 Christmas Exhibition at The Frame Gallery in Odiham,Hampshire. I will also be taking the reindeer painting that has created so much laughter  over the last few days.

I often feel, as artists we can take ourselves far too seriously and I am meeting many established professionals who have been painting for years but admit they have lost the enjoyment in picking up their brushes. In all honesty I know that will never happen to me because I truly am an art addict and can't wait to start painting each day.

At the moment I am working on my 2013/2014 watercolour tours and a fabulous collection of art for my 2013 exhibitions.

There is as always, so much to do and I am  so happy there is!

 I am delighted to share the invitation for my " Artist of the Month " exhibition at the Frame Gallery in Odiham,Hampshire  which runs from 1-24th June. I will be at the Private Preview on 1st June to sign books and celebrate the launch of my new book and DVD.

Celebrate Spring Exhibition

I have just returned from "The Frame" Gallery having seen most of my work already in place for the opening of " Celebrate Spring" this Friday at  five thirty in the evening. Wine will be flowing to celebrate the occasion and the gallery is bursting with fresh spring colours  in subjects ranging from primroses,daffodils to my favourite animals and of course racing scenes.

This interesting  gallery nestles in Odiham High Street and displays work by Pip McGarry, Paul Banning RI and Roger Dellar RI along with many more leading artists. There is a lovely orginal by Kate Wyatt and my own " Hare today,Gone Tomorrow" faces you as you walk in through the door. Now I have seen this particular hare in the gorgeous oak frame I really AM tempted to change my mind and keep it!
